CostaRossa has experienced many changes in its 170-year history. The vineyards were extended and massively reduced riding the waves of the agricultural cycles. There are currently 4 acres of operational vineyards, all planted with Nebbiolo, the grapes turned into the famous Barolo wine in the nearby region.
Until 2008 there were 17 acres operational, planted with Pinot Noir, but a fungal disease had a serious impact on the vineyards and the owner decided to close down all wine activities and to remove all the vines.
Three years later, the property was sold and the new owner decided to plant the current 4 acres of Nebbiolo and to recommence the wine production again. In 2016 this wine production was stopped for personal reasons and since then the grapes have been sold to a neighbouring winehouse that produces red and rose wine.
Production on the property came to live again in 2022. The vineyard was expanded at the beginning of 2023 and new grape varieties (Timorasso / Sauvignon Bianco) were planted.
