The experience includes a guided hike with a certified tour guide on a tourist-type loop to retrace the history of our Aleramo, the first Marquis of Monferrato in the 10th century. Meeting point in Grazzano Badoglio, in the heart of Monferrato, between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria. A town of ancient history (Roman finds attest to the presence of inhabited settlements as early as the 1st century AD), it developed and grew around the famous abbey founded in the 10th century by Marquis Aleramo.
The abbey, parish church and Aleramo's tomb can also be visited, according to availability.
At the end of the excursion, guided tour of a historic winery with wine tasting accompanied by local gastronomic products. The vineyards of the area produce, in the continuity of a tradition of excellence, wines of great value.

Meet at the starting point at the village of Grazzano Badoglio for a trek with an Environmental Hiking Guide in a loop, a sensory journey of discovery of the UNESCO World Heritage area.
Among fields and vineyards and breathtaking viewpoints you will discover the roots that have always distinguished this territory: traditions deeply linked to wine production but also to the biodiversity of the hills.
Not to be missed is a stop at the Big Bench, a giant bench created by the initiative of designer Chris Bangle to support local communities, tourism and the excellent craftsmanship of the villages where these outsized installations are located. Enjoy the view and get excited as if “one were a child again.” Packed lunch on the way.
At the end of the excursion there is a guided tour of a winery that boasts of a rich past founding its origins in 961, when Marquis Aleramo decided to plan the abbey and assign it to the Benedictine orders.
The choice of land for vineyards dates back as far as the first half of the 1700s, which has always been conditioned by the discovery of soil with a substrate of marine origin, up to the current ownership's philosophy in favor of eco-sustainability.
From the patron courtyard, there is access to the Italianate gardens and a panoramic view of the vineyards. A few steps lead to the brick-vaulted Historic Cellar, where the wines produced by the estate are aged in wood, and to the Infernot, dug 17 meters underground. Infernot are the completely hand-excavated underground cellars used to store wines: authentic jewels of underground architecture, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
The wine tasting will be accompanied by a selection of Piedmontese products of cured meats, cheeses and other delicacies.
