Renovated with care and dedication, respecting the rural tradition of the village and rigorous attention to details, using original materials recovered locally, Cascina Serra dei Monti re-baptised Cascina Allegra is now a charming residence in the hills, enjoying a 180° view over Basso Monferrato with the Alps and Monviso in the distance. Unique details worthy of note are the annexed wood burning oven where the residents of the area used to bake bread and above all the characteristic infernot, circular plan cellar dug into the stone under the house, one of the 47 structures in Monferrato Casalese of the Eco Museum of Pietra da Cantoni (a local stone) of Cella monte.

The passion for these places and this land and the attraction for the farming and wine activities in particular, have ensured that, in addition to the landscape interest, the house and annexed lands would become the object of an amateur business: Cascina Allegra is a small family-run farm which cultivates vineyards, olives and hazelnuts and produces wine and extra-virgin olive oil, an ongoing entrepreneurial project. An activity in which passion, attention to quality and personal satisfaction for things well done, come before the business interest.


The conservative recovery of the rural annexes has allowed to create an office and welcome and tasting point in what was once the haybarn, characterised by a large window which offers a unique view over the farmstead with the profile of the hills in the background.
