The tower is located on the hill of San Fermo and allows a global view of the Valle Bormida of Spigno, crossed since Roman times by the Via Aemelia-Scauri which connected Acqui to the coastline of Savona.
It is built from Langa stone, irregularly laid out, processed materials were used in the corners; the base is square with sides of 4.50 m and a thickness of about 80 cm for a height of 25 m.
Inside, a staircase has been built with wooden steps that reaches to the top: it allows safe visits and continuous monitoring of the structures. A spiral staircase has been positioned in correspondence with a presumable walkway, with the agreement of the Superintendency.
The quadrangular cistern for the collection of rainwater, covered by a large barrel vault in stone with a small opening from which the water was probably drawn, has also been restored.
