Tenuta Elena is located in the municipality of Cassinelle in the province of Alessandria, just 9 km from the Ovada motorway exit. Located in a hilly area at 380 m a.s.l. it is composed of 4 hectares planted entirely with vineyards that enjoy a south-southeast exposure. The production of Tenuta Elena wines is limited (40/45 tons per hectare) because the vineyards range from 35 to 90 years of age. The varieties of wine produced are Dolcetto and Barbera and, in the future, Nebbiolo. In particular, two types of Dolcetto are produced, one Doc aged not less than one year from the harvest and refined in concrete tanks, and one processed in 225-litre wood barriques and 500-litre tonneaux from 12 to 15 months. The same refining process is used for Barbera. Tenuta Elena uses only its own grapes to produce the wine.
