The first known date is 1228, the year before which there already appeared to be a church which had the function of a parish church.
The current parish church stands on the remains of a dilapidated house of the second half of the seventeenth century, a bequest from Fossati Antonio, as can be read in the documents of the Notary Giulio Mantegna of Gavi, dated 14 May 1676, which is donated to "build a Church or Chapel in said house and ground for the daily use of the people and inhabitants of said villa of Monterotondo".
