Despite a church entitled to San Lorenzo already existed in the 13th century, the new church was built in a contemporary style in the 1920s. Archbishop Minoretti blessed the new church in 1930 and in 1935 the parish seat was transferred from the ancient Church of San Lorenzo to the new Church of Santi Bernardo Abate and Lorenzo Martire and built in the provostry.
