The church, completed in 1675, stands in the center of the town, in the area which was once home to the 13th-century oratory dedicated to the Assumption. The building, in mixed brick and stone masonry, presents a gabled facade with civil plaster surface finish. The facade is contained at the sides by two pairs of pilaster strips which run from the lower plinth to the entablature which supports the tympanum. In the middle is a portal, characterized by a cornice above, surmounted by a panel which encloses a mosaic depicting the Virgin Mary. The bell tower, square in plan, is located adjacent to the perimeter wall, with a bell chamber bordered at the corners by pilasters supporting the roof enclosed by the dome at the top. The interior presents rich decoration composed of architectural elements and frescoes.
