The Church dedicated to S. Maria Assunta is remembered for the first time in 1212 as dependent on the Abbey in which it is still included. The current property was built between 1675 and 1729.
On the outside a two-tiered facade; the fresco on the pediment, work of Luigi Gainotti in 1910, is now illegible. The artist from Parma also frescoed the interior of the church between 1903 and 1910. The paintings of the Church are the most significant corpus of wall paintings by the Maestro which depicts the evangelical parables of the Good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son at the end of the nave.
At the right altar, a polychrome wooden sculpture of the Assumption, work of Genoese craftsmanship of the 18th century.
The side tabernacle of the presbytery is home to the reliquary of the Holy Cross in embossed and chiseled silver, of probable 17th-century Roman manufacture, donated to the church in 1716.
