Ancient building but refurbished and transformed many times to remove almost any sign of its past.
The facade of the Church, inaugurated in 1926 by Don Mario Traverso, opens onto a small opening at the center of which is a fountain topped by a beautiful white marble cherub of the nineteenth century, work of Sansebastiano.
From the square, via Solerino takes to the higher ground which is home to the remains of the Castle: the end of this road was home to the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine until 1799.
The building was torn down by the Austrian artillery batteries which tried to conquer Porta Zerbo that year on 15 August. Two wings of the ancient Carmelite convent remain, already documented in the fifteenth century and standing at the side of the
church.
