The original place of worship of Fresonara consisted of the castle oratory.
The building, which had become too small to satisfy the needs of the faithful, was rebuilt with three naves.
The bell tower was built in 1573 and the choir was added in 1600; the latter and the pulpit were refurbished in 1705.
The new facade designed by Agostino Bocca was built in 1891.
