The public weigh station (peisa in local dialect) was created to trade farm products, while the stone and mortar were sold adopting the volumetric capacity of one baroccio (equivalent to 500 or 600 kg of weight) as unit of measure.
The exhibition space of the small house next to the weigh station hosts a collection of weights, weighing scales, and antique objects.
The concessions of the first three-year contract of operation of the public weigh station were discussed by the town council of Quarti on 27 May 1883.
