Restaurant and hotel The history of the Hotel Restaurant Monte Boglelio begins in 1928, when the brothers Francesco, Mario and Paolo Toso, together with Giuseppe Magrassi from Pavia, build the “Ristoro Belvedere” to host the first pioneering tourists from Voghera, Pavia, Tortona and Alessandria. It was located on Mount Boglelio (1490 m asl), at the time certainly the highest accommodation facility of the area. The activity developed successfully over the years but, in 1943, after the facts of 8th September, the generosity of the Toso brothers was put to the test when the hotel was destroyed in retaliation by the Nazi-Fascist militia for having accommodated several military prisoners of war on the run. Paolo Toso, despite other ordeals, did not lose heart. He rolled up his sleeves and with great determination put his business back on its feet in the small square of Forotondo. He built a new hotel restaurant called significantly "Monte Boglelio" to remember the work carried out and destroyed by the stupidity of a war. Today, the work of Paolo Toso is continued by his children Bruno and Marisa and by his grandchildren.
