The meeting which took place a few years ago between an enterprising art enthusiast and "Il Divisionismo" Picture Gallery of Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona, has led to the realization of the project of the "Luigi Aghemo plaster cast gallery" inserted into the artistic-educational structure of the cultural assets of the Fondazione.
The artist in question is from Pinerolo, the soul and driving force behind the original idea developed to give a tangible response to the impending need of the entire artistic heritage of Aghemo, always lovingly curated by Graziella and Riccardo Dotti. A building of the 18th century in via Silvio Pellico, which was home to the studio and the artistic materials, was put up for sale, with the prospect of an imminent move and the need for a new but difficult positioning in the territory of origin.
And so, the Dotti family, convinced of the organised and efficient museum structure of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona, decided to contact it to explore the possibility of transferring the Artistic Collection of the Maestro, Pinerolo by adoption, to the facilities of the museum of Tortona.
The timing was perfect, as “Il Divisionismo" Picture Gallery was renovating a suitable space for the realization of an educational workshop for students of local schools, in which educational and experimental activities on art could be carried out.
This space lent itself to receiving the artistic heritage of Luigi Aghemo and a few months later the entire Collection was transferred and positioned, giving life to the Luigi Aghemo plaster cast gallery.



Open: from Monday to Friday by prior arrangement, free admission.
Closed at Christmas and New Year, open on other days by prior arrangement.
