The restaurant has been present on the Monferrato Hills among the Brachetto and Dolcetto d’Acqui vineyard rows for more than 150 years. The food here is based on the selection of typical products, seasonality and creativity. Chicco Testa is a character of the Piedmont restaurant sector worth getting to know, as is his exceptional cuisine, which speaks the language of the territory; the dish describes the history of the person behind the highest quality products. The dining room of his airy and well-furnished restaurant hosts a visible wine list on the wall, dedicated primarily to Piedmontese labels.


The menu is recited and rigorously respects the seasons and market availability. The starters (€8) can include gorgonzola mousse, chicken and vegetable salad or courgette flan; the palate will start to leap with joy (€9) with the ravioli al plin with butter and sage or roast sauce, the tagliolini with meat sauce without tomatoes or with courgettes, peppers and aubergines, the raviolone with sheep ricotta and chard with rocket and walnuts, the potato dumplings with fresh mushrooms (delicious!). Next (€12) excellent meat tartare served with fresh mushrooms, pork fillet with aubergines and smoked scamorza, farm-raised rabbit with Taggiasca olives. Before the dessert don’t miss out on an outstanding selection of cheese, including a formaggetta that you will never forget. To finish (€5) nougat semifreddo, with chestnut honey, marrons glacés and meringue, “ball cake”, apricot jam tart. You will feel great afterwards, and you won’t find a more honest bill anywhere.
