U Re, was the name given to the founder of this establishment, Domenico Roggero, born in 1878, because of his moustache which made him look like Vittorio Emanuele II. This is the place to go to purchase, discover and taste the best local artisan products: from the cured meats and cheese to fresh pasta and homemade biscuits. Most of all, you have to try the excellent homemade dishes prepared by Paola Roggero, great-granddaughter of Domenico: the Russian salad “a secret since three generations” (unparalled, delicious), the veal in tuna sauce, the agnolotti (pasta squares stuffed with a variety of fillings) and the subrich (potato fritters). Tasty fritters made with vegetables, parmesan and fresh eggs, which are De.Co (Municipal Designation of Origin) products of Masio.
