The name of the village appears for the first time in a document of 1202, in a decree, with which the Marquis Bonifacio I Aleramo granted the fief to the nobleman Anselmo Musso di Paciliano from Casale. Symbol of the village is the baroque parish church of S. Ambrogio, an exceptionally scenic location, built between 1772 and 1783 and designed by the engineer Evasio Andrea De Giovanni. Treville is also home to the Civic Collection of the works of contemporary art master Mario Surbone.
