The fortified town, arisen in a strategic position on the borders with the Dukedom of Milan, has a thousand-year-old history. The Tower, symbol of the town, was built in the 15th century as an observatory and signalling point (it was also used by Vittorio Emanuele II). The parish church of San Martino has an imposing neo-Renaissance facade. The Sanctuary of Madonna del Pozzo was built following the miracle of the Virgin Mary who saved a Spanish soldier who had been thrown into a well. Big Bench 91 has been installed in a scenic position.
