Quargnento is home to the imposing Basilica of San Dalmazio, probably built over a Roman temple, of which traces remain in the masonry materials. The church, consecrated by Pope Pasquale II in 1110, was later destroyed by the troops of Federico Barbarossa. Rebuilt in the second half of the 16th century, it was restored in the following centuries. The village in the Alessandria plain is also home to the birthplace of the famous artist Carlo Carrà, protagonist of the Futurist movement whose figure can be rediscovered thanks to the installations of the Art route dedicated to him.
