Mombello Monferrato, which still features remains of the ancient fortifications, is known for the nearby Monte Sion, which dominates a stretch of hills and churches and was home to the Franciscan Convent, founded by Father Bonaventura Quarelli, between the 16th and the early 19th century. The village is crossed by the itinerary of the "Monferrato dei Castelli bruciati" which joins eleven Municipalities of the Cerrina Valley for a total of 100 km (on dirt roads and paved roads with little traffic): an itinerary immersed in nature, rich in historical, cultural and devotional sites, along which you meet 35 churches, 8 castles and countless enchanting panoramas.
