Hilly defence, which faces onto the charming plain of Vercelli, beyond the River Po, the village is dominated by the Castle, of ancient construction, occupied several times during the 17th century wars and transformed into a country residence in the 18th century, before undergoing a radical restoration starting from the early 20th century. Gabiano is also home to the Historical Museum of Alpine Troops with material and rich documentation from their birth to the Second World War.
