The church we see today was designed by the architect Ottavio Magnocavalli from Casale, after the pre-existing construction was taken down, which was the result of a series of overlappings whose first traces date back to the 12th century. Magnocavalli died before the Church of S. Bartolomeo was completed. It was completed by the court architect Agostino Vitoli of the late 18th century. He was the author of the facade, with its strongly neo-Classical image.
Note: The Church was not consecrated until 1862. The interior decorations date to this period. To the right of the parish church rises the Castle of Callori, a complex which also preserves its original austere look.
Artworks and objects contained: Frescoes by Luigi Morgari: on the vault "The Immaculate Virgin venerated by the prophets", and the "Four Cardinal Virtues". At the sides of the apse choir "The Baptism of Polymius King of Armenia by Saint Bartholomew" and "Saint Bartholomew who intercedes with the Madonna of protection of Vignale". At the centre of the apse, a lovely painting of the school of Moncalvo depicting Saint Augustine. In the sacristy, furniture and canvases from the Conventual Church of the Servants of Mary.
