Castello Sacchi-Nemours
History & Culture
via Garibaldi, 1 - 15035 Frassinello Monferrato (AL)
Private property.
Built in the 10th century, it was enlarged in the 11th century and renovated many times (note the variety of the architectural elements). It was definitively restored in the 1700s by the Nemours family.
The complex has a C layout with a large internal courtyard with garden. The square towers that embellish the main front were once crenellated.
Inside, the vaults of the rooms are embellished by exquisite frescoes from the 18th century, in the main room there is a lovely mosaic floor with coat of arms of the "Sacchi-Nemours" family.
