The area extends in a hilly environment with a great viticultural vocation that develops between 118 and 311m above sea level, in an area of transition between the alluvial plain and the slopes that gradually rise towards the Apennine belt, formed by ancient floods and sedimentary formations. This S.I.R. was born with the aim of enhancing the natural, landscape and historical-cultural resources over a wide territory between the municipalities of Alice Bel Colle, Cassine and Ricaldone in the province of Alessandria, and of Bruno, Maranzana and Mombaruzzo in the province of Asti. A strong landscape connotation is given to these territories by vine cultivation.
