The Big Bench colle belvedere number 361 of Murisengo is located close to Casa Battia on a natural balcony surrounded by greenery and vineyards, where the land oozes heat and memories and the breeze sweeps away heavy thoughts.
It is part of the Big Benches of Chris Bangle, now a symbolic attraction of Piedmont, part of the BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT (BBCP) designed to support local communities, tourism and the artisan excellence of the towns in which they are installed out of scale. BBCP is a not-for-profit initiative promoted by the American designer and his wife Catherine, residents of Clavesana since 2009, to bring together the creativity of the designer team of Chris Bangle Associates S.r.l. and the artisan excellence of this area of Piedmont.
The Big Benches are often known from images, but once you sit on one
and you experience the feeling of enjoying the view as "if you were a child once again", it becomes an intense experience to share with others. The benches are made for relaxation; unlike a chair or an armchair they are wide enough to accommodate one or more friends. Sitting on a bench is a delightful social gesture, and making good use of all the positive energy which the Big Benches give off is the vision behind the BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT.
